How do I request a handyman service?

Booking is easy! Simply visit the "Make a Booking" section on my website: www.handymanplusvan.com, select a time slot that works for you, and provide details about your project. For larger or quoted jobs (like bathrooms, kitchens, or flat roofs), I’ll provide a written estimate before we confirm.

What areas do I serve?

I serve Swindon. For larger quoted projects, I may extend slightly further depending on scope and availability.

Are your services available evenings or weekends?

My core working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM. This ensures efficient scheduling and allows me to balance work and well-being. I currently do not offer evening or weekend slots.

How much do your services cost?

My standard handyman services are charged at £34.50/hour, booked in three-hour blocks. Larger or complex projects are quoted separately. Please check the online booking system or contact me for a tailored quote.

Do you offer any discounts or promotions?

Yes! I proudly offer discounts to schools, hospitals, and disabled individuals as part of my commitment to supporting the local community.

What types of projects can you handle?

I’m a multi-trade handyman experienced in:

• Tiling, plasterboarding, and wall repairs

• Flooring installations (laminate, vinyl, etc.)

• Kitchen modifications and hidden joinery

Please note: I do not handle gas work, electrical work, bricklaying, gardening, rubbish removal, or sloped roof work. I also avoid lifting items over 15 kg to protect my back.

Are you insured and DBS checked?

Absolutely! I am fully insured and DBS-cleared to work in sensitive environments like schools and with vulnerable adults.

What safety measures do you follow?

I follow best practices for workplace safety and am committed to sustainable, eco-friendly methods wherever possible, recycling materials and minimizing waste.

How do I pay for services?

Payments can be made via PayPal, bank transfer, or cash. I issue QuickBooks invoices for all jobs to ensure clear, professional records. For quoted projects, a 50% upfront deposit is required before scheduling and material purchase.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require at least 7 days' notice for cancellations or reschedules to avoid loss of time or materials. Cancellations within 7 days may result in forfeiture of deposits or booking fees.

Do you provide materials?

Yes, I can source materials, but I recommend customers source their own when possible (especially for special-order items). If I provide materials, I require upfront payment for their cost.

When will you arrive after I book?

You can expect me to arrive on the date and time you selected in the online booking system, barring any unforeseen circumstances. For quoted jobs, we will arrange a mutually agreed date once the deposit is received.

Do you offer emergency services?

At this time, I do not offer emergency or out-of-hours services, but I am exploring options to expand availability in the future.

What if I’m not satisfied with the work?
